here is what I did:
http://www.freecreditreport.com….they give you 1 month free trial, and you just call the number before the end of the month and tell them you want to cancel…they didn’t even try to sell me anything on the phone they just said “okay”
Even if you cancel the first week, you can still visit the full month.

You’re entitled to receive 1 credit reports for free per year. Just call either Experian for example and request it.
In addition if you are rejected by commercial company due to credit history, you can get the credit report as well.

This site allows you to request a free credit file disclosure, commonly called a credit report, once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
